… Excelled in the Sport of Hockey and Softball
Bernie “Bean” Denny of Eskasoni First Nation was a tremendous athlete who excelled in the sports of Hockey and Softball. He was feared by many and considered to be one of the premier athletes of his time. His slap shot went clean through plexiglass, so you can imagine how Goalies felt in front of his famous wind ups.
He was also known in the sport of Softball to be able to hit home runs at will. Stories have often been told about him, but the most prominent was that he hit a home run with one hand.
